deadliest catch star found dead

deadliest catch star found dead

"Deadliest Catch" fisherman Justin Tennison was found dead Tuesday of unknown causes.

Tennison, a member of the Time Bandit fishing crew, was discovered in a motel room in Alaska.

Beer, hard liquor and a small amount of marijuana were found in the room, Homer police Lt. Randy Rosencrans said. Police believe a party was held in the room on Monday night - two rooms were registered under Tennison's name and nearby guests complained about the noise.

Foul play isn't suspected, Rosencrans said. An autopsy by the state medical examiner's office was scheduled to take place later Wednesday.

The 34-year-old Tennison is set to make a posthumous debut in the Discovery Channel series' seventh season, which is scheduled to begin in April, Discovery spokesman Josh Weinberg said.

Weinberg also released a statement, saying Discovery was saddened by the news.

"We send our sympathies to his entire family and fellow crew members during this most difficult time," the statement said.

The crew of the Time Bandit released their own statement, as well, noting that Tennison "died peacefully in his sleep the night of February 21, 2011."

Tennison, who lived in Alaska for 28 years, worked "alongside his second cousin, Eddie Uwekoolani, Jr., serving as Engineer during the tendering seasons, and joined the Time Bandit crew as a deckhand fishing the Red King 2010 and Opilio 2011 seasons."

The statement described Tennison as "tough as a bull and... an all-around good hand."

He is surivived by his daughter, son, father, sister and grandparents.

The death comes a little more than a year after Capt. Phil Harris of the "Deadliest Catch" fishing vessel Cornelia Marie died following a massive stroke at age 53.

Serene Branson Video

While covering the Grammy Awards last night CBS reporter Serene Branson slurred her words. It caused many to wonder if she was drunk or if there was something seriously wrong with the anchor. Find out exactly what happened that left Serene unable to speak while on air.
Viewers watching Serene Branson, a CBS reporter for Channel 2 in Los Angeles, recap the Grammys were unable to catch a single thing she said. Now I know what you might be thinking perhaps she was hitting the bottle on company time but that might not be the case. It turns out that Serene may have had a stroke while on air, scary right. At this time the following statement has been released by her employer KCBS but that is it cornering details of Branson’s condition.
I don’t know about you but that doesn’t really answer the question of what the heck happened to her. I mean she couldn’t speak at all. There are reports saying she could have had a small stroke but if that was the case wouldn’t the doctors at the hospital kept her over night for observation at leas, I’m just sayin.

If you want to learn more about CBS reporter Serene Branson other than the incident last night you can check out her work bio here. It is unclear exactly what caused her to have the inability to speak during her report. What we do know is that she is as of now feeling ok and that if you are looking for video footage of the segment good luck it seems CBS has taken down all footage even on their own websites. You can see one of her segments about the Vanity Fair’s Oscar Bash below, it is pretty entertaining

It sure was some scary stuff, here is hoping she really is alright. If you have any additional information please feel free to share.

the suburbs

The Suburbs

Almost immediately after Arcade Fire single-handedly reminded Grammy viewers why rock 'n' roll still matters with a bombastic BMX and strobe-assisted rendition of 'Month of May' -- a performance that left nobody, despite the song's lyrics, "standing with their arms folded tight" -- their latest longplayer 'The Suburbs' was announced as the night's best album winner.

Emerging from backstage en masse, the sprawling Canadian group looking as gobsmacked as the audience when Barbra Streisand stuttered her way through their album title. Though Arcade Fire have become the biggest indie band in the world over the past year, and 'The Suburbs' debuted atop the charts in Canada, the US and the UK, they were still underdogs compared to category competitors like Eminem's 'Recovery,' Lady Gaga's 'The Fame Monster' and Lady Antebellum's 'Need You Now.'

"I'd like to say merci, thank you, to Montreal for taking us in, giving us a home, a place to be in a band," said a grateful Win Butler, who moved to la belle ville from Texas with his brother Will before meeting wife/bandmate Régine Chassagne and starting Arcade Fire. "We're gonna go play another song, because we like music. So thank you, we're so happy," he added. "Bye, everyone leave to this song!"

And then in what may be a first for the Grammy awards, Arcade Fire spontaneously returned to their instruments and, with nobody stopping them, blasted out a literally triumphant version of 'Ready to Start,' a song that had lost to Black Keys earlier in the night.

As the audience got to their feet for this unscheduled performance, and the cameras kept rolling, Arcade Fire managed another first -- making viewers all happy that the 2011 Grammy awards ran long.

current tv

Current TV

The former host of MSNBC's "Countdown," who left the network last month after a series of public disputes with its management, will disclose his next step Tuesday in a telephone conference.

Mr. Olbermann's plans may include a deal with public affairs channel Current TV, which former Vice President Al Gore helped found among others, according to a person familiar with the matter. Representatives for Current TV did not return calls for comment.

Mr. Olbermann is likely to pursue a range of initiatives, including a possible Internet venture or radio deal, according to people familiar with the situation. His situation remains fluid, they said.

When he left MSNBC, Mr. Olbermann told colleagues he was going to move online, one person familiar with the matter said. The Internet domain name TheOlbermannShow.com was registered two days before he bid viewers goodbye on the air. Shortly after, he activated a new Twitter account entitled "FOKNewsChannel," an abbreviation for "Friends of Keith."

Within just days of his departure, the top-rated news anchor hired public relations firm 42 West to help unveil his future career plans. The New York Times website on Monday evening reported a possible deal with Current TV.

Mr. Olbermann's abrupt depature from MSNBC set off a string of rumors that have swirled around the former sports anchor, including that he could marshal his popularity—he drew about a million viewers a night on MSNBC--into a show on another network.

But, as part of his roughly $7 million settlement with MSNBC, the anchor signed a non-compete agreement that keeps him off rival television networks for a set period of time, at least several months. Three people familiar with the matter said the non-compete applies only to specific competitors in cable news and broadcast news—not including Current TV.

christina aguilera national anthem

christina aguilera national anthem

Following her slip-up while performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV, Christina Aguilera has released a statement explaining why she mixed up the lyrics.

“I got so lost in the moment of the song that I lost my place,” stated the pop singer. “I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of it’s anthem still came through.”

Instead of singing, “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” she repeated the line, “What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,” changing the word “hailed” to “watched.”

The Internet was abuzz with chatter after people noticed the mistake during her live rendition at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. Watch the performance here.

St Tammany Parish School Board

St Tammany Parish School Board

The St. Tammany Parish School Board will hold its first meeting of the year tonight, and at the top of the agenda will be the swearing in of the entire 15-member board.
This includes new 8th District representative Peggy Seeley, who is taking over for Daniel Zechenelly, the only incumbent not to seek re-election last October.

The 8th District is the School Board's largest by area and covers the northeastern end of the parish, including Bush, Sun and Pearl River. The district contains three public schools: Pearl River High, Creekside Junior High and Sixth Ward Elementary.
Also on the agenda will be the selection of a new set of the board's four officers.

For the past two years, John Lamarque has been board president, Jack Loup has served as vice president and Beth Heintz has held the chair as head of the Human Resources/Education committee. Ray Alfred held the chair of the Business Affairs/Administrative committee since April, when Donald Villere left the board to become mayor of Mandeville.

why is the ocean salty

why is the ocean salty

Ok, so maybe not, but Snooki told us all to Google it and so we are googling it.
According to the published author Snooki, the ocean is salty because of all the 'f--king whale sperm.'
That is why she doesn't want to go in the ocean, because of all the sperm.
The ever-creepy Jeff Miranda wanted to take Snooki in the ocean and that's how this conversation came about.
Don't worry though, the ocean is not salty because of whale sperm, that's just wrong....

punxsutawney phil 2011

punxsutawney phil 2011

Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil made his annual weather forecast in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, as his handlers announced he had not seen his shadow this year, thus predicting an early spring.

Whether a groundhog 1,217 miles to the north says winter is here to stay, or spring is just around the corner, mattered little to the top-hatted, tuxedo-clad members of The Hollywood Beach Bum Chapter of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club.

``Six more weeks of winter in Florida is still six weeks of sun and fun,'' said Pat Hendrick, of Hollywood Beach Safety.

Indeed, Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog of weather forecast fame since 1887, did not see his shadow when he peeped from his lair in Gobblers Knob, Punxsutawney, Pa., and so determined that spring will arrive early this year.

No matter, says Hendrick. ``People from all over the country should come to Florida.''

The Hollywood chapter is one of 58 such organizations nationwide that gathered around televisions to await the annual 7:25 a.m. Feb. 2 prediction.

But instead of being glued to the tube, Hollywood Groundhog Day partyers enjoyed breakfast al fresco at Ocean Alley restaurant, then made a mad dash to the surf where they dipped their big toes into the 69-degree water.

``If anyone here were to think of their worst winter in Florida, it would still be the best for everyone else right now,'' said Bill Cooper, of Punxsutawney, referring to recent record-breaking snow and ice storms every where else.

Tuesday was Cooper's first time in 35 years he's spent Groundhog Day somewhere other than Punxy.

Cooper, the immediate past president of the patriarchal Inner Circle of the Punxsutawney, retired from his job as a banker on Jan. 3 and headed south two days later. ``It's the first time in 35 years that I've spoken outside on this day without seeing my own breath,'' said Cooper, dressed in a T-shirt, sandals and top hat.

Club member Lenette Serlo of Plantation, whose father hails from the frosty hills of Punxsutawney (who knew Punxy had so many two-legged residents?), bought her husband Larry, the couple's three children and two batches of Punxsutawney Phil cookies to share.

The homemade cookies are based on the official Punxsutawney Chamber of Commerce recipe, right down to gingersnap spice and raisin eyes.

``It's about keeping the tradition going,'' Serlo said.

Whether Phil turns out to be right or wrong really doesn't matter, Cooper said.

``The tradition hasn't existed for 125 years because of the best meteorological science known to man,'' he explained. ``It's just fun. It breaks up the monotony of winter and makes it something to look forward to.''

And, it turns out, weather prediction is not Phil's only talent.

He also likes to make picks on Super Bowl games.

This year, Phil says, look for the Pittsburgh Steelers to win.

w magazine kim kardashian pics

w magazine kim kardashian pics

I was so shocked to see Kim freak out so much about the pics that she did. I mean she did the pictures and I figured she would know that they could do this with them if they really wanted to. This is almost like the cellulite photos of Kim. The W magazine Kim Kardashian pics weren’t much worse than some of the other things that she has done. When it came down to the W magazine Kim Kardashian pics she claimed that they were porn. She said her 2007 Playboy pictures were not even as bad as these photos. She went on to rant and rave that she thought she was going to be covered with art. The W magazine Kim Kradashian pics had her in an uproar but many other people were happy to see them.
She declared that she was never going to take her clothes off again. She said she wouldn’t even do it for Vogue but at the end of the talk she started joking and saying that she may for Vogue. I suppose she really wasn’t that upset. I think that she ended up really liking the W magazine Kim Kardashian pics.
