texas bowl

texas bowl
Two plays into Thursday’s Texas Bowl, as Missouri wideout Danario Alexander sliced through Navy’s defense for a 58-yard touchdown, the week’s prevailing question never seemed more relevant.
Could Navy, undersized and physically overmatched, hang with Missouri?
Turns out, it was just the opposite.
Before a half-empty crowd at Reliant Stadium — bowl organizers claimed more than 69,000 seats were sold — the Tigers couldn’t keep up with Navy in a 35-13 loss.
While Missouri’s offense sputtered the rest of the way, Navy (10-4) time and again burned the Tigers via both ground and air.
Junior Navy quarterback Ricky Dobbs, named the game’s most valuable player, ran for 166 yards and three touchdowns while also throwing for another.
